Mr. Avaneesh Marwaha founded this firm with the strong intentions of dedicating the practice to developing, growing and protecting businesses and their brands. Prior to forming Marwaha Law Office, LLC, Mr. Marwaha spent significant time handling intellectual property matters including patent licensing issues; trademark prosecution, licensing and maintenance matters; copyright prosecution and licensing and brand management matters. He has been involved with intellectual property litigation on the state and federal levels involving various aspects of litigation including Markman hearing preparation, defending against discovery motions, mediating cases to settlement, defending against preliminary injunctions and motion practice.
Notably, Mr. Marwaha handled an extensive trademark infringement lawsuit out of the Central District of California successfully defeating a motion for preliminary injunction and effectively mediating the case allowing the client to maintain its registered trademark. He also successfully recovered a $250,000 bond posted by a bread company with the federal government for misbranding and false advertising.
Mr. Marwaha has also counseled clients on all aspects of FDA, FTC and related regulatory matters including product labeling, claim drafting, advertising, and approval, GRAS affirmations, 403(r)(6) statements, Bio-Terrorism Act registrations, good manufacturing practices, and import/detention issues.
Mr. Marwaha graduated from Bradley University with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and then went on to receive his Juris Doctorate from Valparaiso University School of Law with a concentration in Intellectual Property. He is a member of the American Bar Association, Illinois Bar Association and Chicago Bar Association. Mr. Marwaha is licensed to practice in the State of Illinois and the Northern District of Illinois.
